Important Update

This release has been updated to fix three issues:
  • Update to fix a conflict between the Ajax Control Toolkit and jQuery/jQuery UI.
  • Update to the ToolkitScriptManager to prevent an error that resulted from concurrency conflicts on high traffic websites. If you are getting the error message "Could not load control control name. The script reference(s) of this control was not loaded correctly." then please install this update.
  • Update to the ToolkitScriptManager to prevent a pageLoaded error in Firefox when using the new jQueryExtender base class.

The assembly version of the updated release is x.x.x.1002. The version with the two issues is version x.x.x.0930. Right-click on the AjaxControlToolkit.dll, select Properties, and look at the Details tab to view the assembly version.

- Instructions for using the AJAX Control Toolkit with ASP.NET 4.5 can be found at
- The current version of the AJAX Control Toolkit is not compatible with ASP.NET 2.0. The latest version that is compatible with ASP.NET 2.0 can be found here: 20229.
- You must use the ToolkitScriptManager instead of the ScriptManager with the Ajax Control Toolkit.
- You must use Visual Studio 2012 to view or modify the source code for the Ajax Control Toolkit.
- Instructions for contributing a bug report can be found at

What's New?

This release of the Ajax Control Toolkit introduces a new jQueryExtender base class and contains a new version of the ToggleButton control completely rewritten in jQuery.

For details on the new features included with this release, please see Stephen Walther's blog post at
  • jQueryExtender - Use the new jQueryExtender base class to create new Ajax Control Toolkit controls using jQuery.
  • ToggleButton Control - Rewritten using pure jQuery.
  • Twitter Control - Completely rewritten to use the new Twitter API.
  • ToolkitScriptManager - Fixed issue concerning errors when used in Medium Trust.
  • AjaxFileUpload - Fixed issue concerning ampersands in file names (issue 27476).

Reviews for this release

The October 2 2013 version 7.1002 brings a new bug. In a page I am adding accordion panes programmatically, but I get this error: Error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Script entries not loaded yet. It worked fine with previous releases, including September 30 2013 version 7.0930.

I'm getting "Script entries not loaded yet" in Release mode too. If I set the site to debug mode it is fine. I get this error on one specific page with some other AJAX controls. Please fix this error

Please fix the MaskedEdit control , It still has a bug of invalidating valid input. Do tests on your sample page to replicate eg _,_99,859.25 , £ 9,999,999.99 does not validated although is valid. Bug appeared from June release

II installed September 2013 version appreciable all the new features (jquery & Support CombineScripts Handler), but there are too many errors or incompatibility. Impossible or too long update complete solutions. From a mature and reliable kit has returned to an instability of their new projects.

Very poor release. Been testing this morning and existing errors in IE8 remain. Fix bugs please then add features.

There is NO feedback on problems that we report. ClearTextOnInvalid is still not working. Does anyone read these messages?

I installed the September 2013 release ( in a new Master / Details pages Visual Studio 2013 project. I use UpdatePanel to improve the user experience and reduces the screen flicker. However, this is not working with version There is a a full-page postback every time a control is clicked. Maybe is not compatible with Visual Studio 2012 and Framework 4.5.1? Should I wait for a compatible version of Ajax Control Toolkit? Sincerely, Lennart Hoglund

Also experienced problems with 7.1005. Async postbacks from WebForms not working anymore (.Net 4.5.1). Working in Debug, not working in Release mode. Seems there is a problem with CombineScripts="true". This results in Error: "Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Script entries not loaded yet." When set to CombineScripts="false", it appears there are no errors. Downgraded back to 7.0930 (sep 30) version, and no problems so far.

The AutoCompleteExtender keeps throwing this error: Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'Sys.Extended.UI' is null or not an object

i want to use calendar extender on my textbox, but it doesn't load, and there's a message in the console log "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'UI' of undefined Booking.aspx:470 event.returnValue is deprecated. Please use the standard event.preventDefault() instead." note : i'm using jquery, and jquery UI also

MaskedEditValidator does not validate Mask in MaskedEditExtender properly for other CurrentThread cultures anymore. Cannot use BehaviorIDs on controls within UserControls that get used multiple times on a page, duplication issue. Combine scripts must be set to false in ScriptManager causing more scripts requests and slower page load time.

(Problem was fixed -- thanks!)

Useless release for productive usage. Bugs not fixed, manual compiling is difficult because of missing packages, the package batch files contains such glorious things like 'c:\zip\7za.exe' and so on. As NickKitch alreasy said, fix bugs before adding new features.

Is it possible to make another debug update on this release ? I really like the new features, but (maybe I missed something) I can not use it in production sites because of some weird bugs (and I can see here that I am not the only one).

Everything is working as I expected except the medium trust issue remains. Great work guys and thanks for the second push on this release.

I Installed the September 2013 version exactly today (the day of release) because I was updating all my nuget packages... I then started having javascript error in every page, telling that the PageLoaded function was not defined, and so every other jQuery command failed. Removing or not the reference to jQuery 1.10.2 js the problem persists. Am I doing something wrong ?
