The ASP.NET Ajax Library now includes all the ASP.NET Web Forms server controls that were included in the original Ajax Control Toolkit, and it lets you use most of the Ajax Control Toolkit controls in ASP.NET MVC and in pure HTML applications. For more information, see the following Web site: http://www.ASP.net/ajaxLibrary
Downloading the Original Ajax Control Toolkit
The ASP.NET Ajax Library is currently being released as Beta software. If you prefer to use the original Ajax Control Toolkit, you can download the original Ajax Control Toolkit.

My application is dependent on ModalPopupExtender. What was working under a previous version is now so broken I can't use it. I'm going to have to stick with the old version of the toolkit until the problems with ModalPopupExtender are fixed. The problem seems occur when its inside an UpdatePanel. But even outside an UpdatePanel the behavior is different. I hope someone will fix it soon!

It seems all of my conponents work after upgraded, instead of scriptmanager that need to be changed. I have been waitting for the official released version but it is still beta version at this time. Does this toolkit be abandoned?

CAREFUL! Tab Containers in this build are defaulted to style="visibility:hidden". There are also awkward behaviors with firefox 3.6 "hand" visibility that you should be aware of:

I ran into problems using the ToolkitScriptManager with the DropDownExtender. I had to switch to the AjaxScriptManager in order to get my examples to work. I am working through the 30512 SampleWebSite using the new libraries. Not much fun so far.

It seems, previous build was more stable. I've got a lot of troubles with ModalPopup and it was impossible to solve them. I had to roll back. I cannot recommend this beta.

Problems with the commas in ModalPopup Extender that had already been resolved in Release 30512.

Stable?. Modal Popup nightmare. Love the Asynch File Upload, but with the most useful existing items breaking, it's not usable. I had to backtrack to 30512

This release fixes problems I was seeing in the AJAX Control Toolkit for Chrome and Safari. It also seems to make things snappier! I don't see the issue everyone seems to be talking about with Modal Popup Extender...I do see that it now posts back, as with the previous release, but that isn't breaking my code or causing problems. If you code this correctly, it's an excellent release, even in beta.

So far I have followed every tutorial I can find and I cannot get a single control to work. I continue to get Sys==undefined and client side script failed to load errors. There seems to be no reason for this. good job Microsoft! This thing is a huge load of fail!

Admittedly, I barely tried this first version in the ASP.NET Ajax Library. Immediate problems I encountered include incorrect validation callout extender positioning and validators with incorrect data failing to preventing postback. I will await the next release.

This thing is terrible. I was really excited about the toolkit a year ago and jumped right in. I quickly found that just about eveyone I tried to use was either extreamly top heavy or wasnt complete crossbrowser compatable. Since then I have built from the ground up my own jquery based control to replace most that I would of used. I wouldent recommend these to any serious programmer.

Could you at least give a hive a hint about the changes in this (beta) release, so we do not need to create (again) the set of tests just to see what is fixed... Thanks!

The kit itself may be great, but the instructions on how to get it up and running are either nonexistent, or impossible to find.

The most used feature Modalpopupcontrolextender is completely destroyed in this release. Any reasons?

This release is a steaming pile of junk. I just wasted almost two weeks trying to figure out why most AJAX controls were no longer working. Thought it was my code. Turns out most element IDs get duplicated once a modal popup is shown. Textboxes with extra commas in them.
Why is this marked as a Stable release in the version selector box in the top-right of the page? Should be BETA.
